"Castaw
Here's the full album description: This latest installation kicks off with Talk in Grey; a stunning collaboration with indie-rocker Ryan Merchant whose retro-pop vocals are at once sinfully masculine and intensely emotive. Evoking only the very best of a genre which so obviously strikes a chord with van Dyk, this mix is sure to be seeing heavy rotation from LA to Bombay as fans croon along to the wicked chorus!ay" John O Bir Remix to be released this month!!! Most wonderful Paul Van Dyk has joined forces with dance elite Jon O'Bir, Kyau and Albert and Super 8 and Tab and will release a new remix album this month called "Hands On In Between" One of the songs being released is a remix of "Castaway" (one of Lo-Fi Sugar's contributions to the In Between album)!!! It's a beautiful remix and samples can be heard on PVD's myspace page : www.myspace.com/paulvandyk
Next up is a classic Jon O'Bir interpretation of Castaway featuring the ethereal voice of LA native Lo-Fi Sugar. And like all his productions, this gorgeously nuanced remix distills the velvety energy of Paul van Dyk's original while creating an intense wash of reverb laden vox and powerful basslines. With its intoxicating vocals and brilliant re-visioning by O'Bir, its impossible to imagine a better match!
Rounding out the latter half of Hands on In Between are two of Paul van Dyk's three album collaborations with singer/songwriter Ashley Tomberlin. Originally known for her work as Luminary, their tracks New York City and Complicated leave audiences continuing the journey where Luminary left off. Often fragile, but always honest, with Super 8 and Tab on remix duties NYC carefully departs from the moody sirens and city sounds of the original while managing to stay true to its emotional roots. Complicated also receives a nuanced rebirth with Kyau and Albert who draw out the trancier side with gorgeously melodic flourishes and a heavy nod to some of the original elements that gave Complicated such a unique flavour to begin with.
